On my client connecting to headscale I see a lot of warnings:

health(warnable=no-derp-connection): error: Tailscale could not connect to the 'Frankfurt' relay server. Your Internet connection might be down, or the server might be temporarily unavailable.

Now I would prefer to not use Tailscale Inc infrastructure at all. Here are the docs how to enable the embedded relay and disable Tailscale ones: https://headscale.net/stable/ref/derp/
