Keeping a track on whether Swarm is going under or not.
Mr Bret Fisher doesn't sound so cheerful about it anymore:
There was no official word on the matter from Dockercon 2021:
It seems it might hover along in maintenance mode for a bit longer:
What is worrying is that I see no clear swarm replacement suitable right now. The only maybe I can see is that Docker seem to be pouring work into the golang rewrite of docker-compose and it is using the compose-spec (source) and might target swarm as a back-end (source) 🙏
Updates:
There is a shedload of swarmkit fixes and energy coming from Mirantis lately.
I'm feeling much better about this.
Will close off.
