Sadly, Rocket.Chat is continuing to pull the rug and will remove custom OAuth from the community edition in version 9.0 https://forums.rocket.chat/t/upcoming-changes-to-identity-management-in-rocket-chat-9-0/23028

This renders Rocket.Chat CE pretty much useless in about 1 year, if you need SSO. Is there any plan to try to continue to support it? Or will that be the end of the Rocket.Chat recipe in coop-cloud?

We use Rocket.Chat for a couple of housing co-ops (not with the coop-cloud recipe, though) and are currently considering the options. One would be to maintain a patch that keeps OAuth going, but I'm not sure if that's viable in the long run. So I'm wondering what others plan to do, and if there might be opportunities to join forces to improve the situation.
