+ I think often environments and backgrounds can add a lot to a piece to make it seem more real, more physical, more intimate, but it's easy to forego that in favour of
+ making something quickly. The perverse incentives that we as artists have to remain relevant in a sea of competing 'content' often lead to an emphasis on speed and
+ efficency over mood, tone and artistic meaning.
