It's adding a slight indirection by constructing a function when called,
but makes the completion functions more consistent, the signature easier
to read, and making the return type a [cobra.CompletionFunc] makes it
more transparent what it's intended for, and helps discovery of functions
that provide completion.

These functions and types are shallow wrappers around the context
store and were intended for internal use as implementation for the
CLI itself.
They were exported in 3126920af1 to be
used by plugins and Docker Desktop. However, there's currently no public
uses of this, and Docker Desktop does not use these functions. These were
deprecated in 95eeafa551 and are no longer
used.
This patch removes the deprecated functions as they were meant to be
implementation specific for the CLI. If there's a need to provide
utilities for manipulating the context-store other than through the
CLI itself, we can consider creating an SDK for that purpose.
This removes:
- `RunCreate` and `CreateOptions`
- `RunExport` and `ExportOptions`
- `RunImport`
- `RunRemove` and `RemoveOptions`
- `RunUpdate` and `UpdateOptions`
- `RunUse`

This replaces the visitAll recursive function with a test that verifies that
the option is set for all commands and subcommands, so that it doesn't have
to be modified at runtime.
We currently still have to loop over all functions for the setValidateArgs
call, but that can be looked at separately.

We transitioned most functionality of docker/errdefs to containerd
errdefs module, and the docker/errdefs package should no longer be
used.
Because of that, there will no longer be ambiguity, so we can remove
the aliases for this package, and use it as "errdefs".

Go maintainers started to unconditionally update the minimum go version
for golang.org/x/ dependencies to go1.23, which means that we'll no longer
be able to support any version below that when updating those dependencies;

For now, these are not exported and included in the cli/commands/contexts
package; a copy of this also lives in cmd/docker, but we need to find a
good place for these completions, as some of them bring in additional
dependencies.
Commands that accept multiple arguments provide completion, but removing

This reverts commit fed9fa0f72.
This removes the ContextType field, which was temporarily added to provide
compatibility with the "compose-cli" wrapper that shipped with Docker Desktop.
The compose-cli wrapper extended the context struct with an additional field
that was not part of the CLI itself, but was used by Visual Studio to detect
the type of context.
This temporary field shipped as part of Docker 27.0 June 2024), which should
be enough time for Visual Studio to have adjusted their integration.

would use "errors.Wrap" which returns nil if the original error
was nil. fmt.Errorf does not do this, so without a nil check,
it would unconditionally return an error;

Docker Desktop currently ships with the "cloud integration" wrapper,
which outputs an additional ContextType field in the JSON output.
While this field is non-standard, it made its way into Visual Studio's
Docker integration, which uses this to exclude "aci" and "eci" context
types that are not supported by Visual Studio.
This patch;
- conditionally adds a ContextType field to the JSON output
- but ONLY when using the default "{{json .}}" or "json" formats
(which are the formats used by Visual Studio)
- if the context is a "aci" or "eci" context, that type is
preserved, otherwise the default "moby" type is used.

The CLI does not currently expose options to add custom metadata to
contexts, but contexts support them.
- update test-utilities to allow setting custom metadata
- update the inspect test to verify that custom metadata is included
when inspecting a context.
- update the import/export tests to verify that custom metadata
is preserved.

This is a follow-up to 0e73168b7e
This repository is not yet a module (i.e., does not have a `go.mod`). This
is not problematic when building the code in GOPATH or "vendor" mode, but
when using the code as a module-dependency (in module-mode), different semantics
are applied since Go1.21, which switches Go _language versions_ on a per-module,
per-package, or even per-file base.
A condensed summary of that logic [is as follows][1]:
- For modules that have a go.mod containing a go version directive; that
version is considered a minimum _required_ version (starting with the
go1.19.13 and go1.20.8 patch releases: before those, it was only a
recommendation).
- For dependencies that don't have a go.mod (not a module), go language
version go1.16 is assumed.
- Likewise, for modules that have a go.mod, but the file does not have a
go version directive, go language version go1.16 is assumed.
- If a go.work file is present, but does not have a go version directive,
language version go1.17 is assumed.
When switching language versions, Go _downgrades_ the language version,
which means that language features (such as generics, and `any`) are not
available, and compilation fails. For example:

Note that these fallbacks are per-module, per-package, and can even be
per-file, so _(indirect) dependencies_ can still use modern language
features, as long as their respective go.mod has a version specified.
Unfortunately, these failures do not occur when building locally (using
vendor / GOPATH mode), but will affect consumers of the module.
Obviously, this situation is not ideal, and the ultimate solution is to
move to go modules (add a go.mod), but this comes with a non-insignificant
risk in other areas (due to our complex dependency tree).
We can revert to using go1.16 language features only, but this may be
limiting, and may still be problematic when (e.g.) matching signatures
of dependencies.
There is an escape hatch: adding a `//go:build` directive to files that
make use of go language features. From the [go toolchain docs][2]:
> The go line for each module sets the language version the compiler enforces
> when compiling packages in that module. The language version can be changed
> on a per-file basis by using a build constraint.
>
> For example, a module containing code that uses the Go 1.21 language version
> should have a `go.mod` file with a go line such as `go 1.21` or `go 1.21.3`.
> If a specific source file should be compiled only when using a newer Go
> toolchain, adding `//go:build go1.22` to that source file both ensures that
> only Go 1.22 and newer toolchains will compile the file and also changes
> the language version in that file to Go 1.22.
This patch adds `//go:build` directives to those files using recent additions
to the language. It's currently using go1.19 as version to match the version
in our "vendor.mod", but we can consider being more permissive ("any" requires
go1.18 or up), or more "optimistic" (force go1.21, which is the version we
currently use to build).
For completeness sake, note that any file _without_ a `//go:build` directive
will continue to use go1.16 language version when used as a module.

support for kubernetes contexts was deprecated in docker 20.10 through
b639ea8b89b162c3abe99d3ac90b258c48e2039c, 0793f9639440d8980226485189ce0eb43e0af28b,
and 1d37fb302789c6ce4ba120bc4ad577c92674467f, and removed altoghether in
23.0 through 193ede9b12.
This patch removes the remaining stubs for options that were deprecated
and no longer used.

- not abort listing contexts when failing one (or more) contexts
- instead, adding an ERROR column to inform the user there was
an issue loading the context.

The "docker context show" command is intended to show the currently configured
context. While the context that's configured may not be valid (e.g., in case
an environment variable was set to configure the context, or if the context
was removed from the filesystem), we should still be able to _show_ the
context.
This patch removes the context validation, and instead only shows the context.
This can help in cases where the context is used to (e.g.) set the command-
prompt, but the user removed the context. With this change, the context name
can still be shown, but commands that _require_ the context will still fail.
