From a federation member:

if you do 3 tabs, the autocompletion show the details like -h

I had a look and, and at least for Bash I can't see a way.

And I think zsh is doing this also but for the regular 2 tab completion?

We might want to indeed recommend a shell for beginners which offers the best help output.
