We just wrote this (after ages of trying to figure it out):
For the “co-op cloud maintenance” budget - this is paying for our administration and maintenance work which keeps the discourse, nextcloud and the single-sign-on up & running. Part of this work can be shared as a “recipe” into the Co-op Cloud (https://coopcloud.tech/) community project which allows other groups to re-use it. This costs less time/energy/money/etc. and as a concrete example, $group funded the nextcloud recipe so now your costs are reduced.
As Autonomic, we're trying to explain that the maintenance payments that a group put in, funds the co-op cloud commons! It's hard to explain ofc. It would be great to have a page on the documentation which explains this payment model.
Other collectives could use it also then. Eventually we could graduate to paying into a common pot so we share money to sustain the project financially... galaxy brain!
