We've got feedback that the meaning of "Operators" is not obvious, especially to people speaking English as a second language.

We tried, and even started, a rename from "Operators" to "Hosters"… but we got feedback from others that this was no better, and possibly worse 😱

an attempt at a summary: I'm personally backing off on the "operators" -> "hosters" terminology change, feedback on the call that "hosters" is no clearer, and possibly less clear, than "operators".
given that there are currently a lot of broken links and inconsistencies – i was 1/3 of the way through fixing them when we had that conversation – I am going to revert the partial "operators" -> "hosters" rename for the time being.
Ammar has kindly offered to collaborate on a survey so we can try to get more input from folks – especially people who are new to co-op cloud, or haven't heard of it at all, and people who are native speakers of languages other than english. I'll be drafting a budget proposal for that work (4-8 hours) as soon as I can.
the idea is to choose some words that last us the next ~4 years of the project at least

I think whatever the name it'd be good to have a definition on the glossary so everyone curious can know what it means for Coopcloud.

I like operators though, it as a working class, gendered menial work vibe to it :B
