# Design (synced from membcons-db)

This directory mirrors the **normative** surfaces of the membcons-db design repository — the designed, aspirational data model ("the compass"), its decision log, its design arguments, and its vocabulary:

- `data-model.md` — the designed schema (module-qualified names are conceptual addresses; see Decision 140)
- `companion.md` — the numbered decision log and open-issue register
- `documents/` + `MANIFEST.md` — the numbered design documents
- `GLOSSARY.md` — durable vocabulary, including module vs. seam (§5.7)

The **descriptive** home for the as-built models is `docs/models/` in this repository — one card per domain model, with migrations as ground truth. Cards cite decisions by number from the surfaces above and do not restate schema (Decision 141).

Open questions travel by the Document 35 pattern: a card surfaces the question; the decision is made in membcons-db; the card updates to cite the resulting document. Structural divergence observed in a card returns to membcons-db as a Stage-1 issue (Document 33) rather than being resolved here.
