Version 12.1.0+2026.8.0

After following the instructions on the README.md to deploy a new server, abra shows that authentik has deployed successfully. However accessing https://authentik.mydomain.com redirects to https://authentik.mydomain.com/setup and displays an authentik-branded page that simply says "Server Error"

Redeploying or deleting the deployment and re-creating it don't fix the problem.

The relevant logs are:

The most recent release that I was able to deploy without encountering this error is 11.0.4+2026.2.1
I was able to successfully upgrade through each subsequent release without failure.

But doing a fresh deployment of any version newer than 11.0.4+2026.2.1 fails.

If you're arriving here because you did abra app new authentik / abra app deploy <YOUR_AUTHENTIK_DOMAIN> and it didn't work, here are some exact commands which should help you get going.

⚠️ Data will be deleted! Only run these commands if you are deploying a new Authentik

Replace <YOUR_AUTHENTIK_DOMAIN> with your domain where you put Authentik, without https:// — for example if you put Authentik on authentik.example.com, then step 1 would be abra app undeploy authentik.example.com

abra app undeploy <YOUR_AUTHENTIK_DOMAIN>
abra app volume rm <YOUR_AUTHENTIK_DOMAIN>
# (press enter/return)
abra app deploy <YOUR_AUTHENTIK_DOMAIN> 1.0.4+2026.2.1

One Authentik has deployed, you can upgrade to the latest version:

abra app upgrade <YOUR_AUTHENTIK_DOMAIN>

Because of version compatibility, you have to upgrade in 2 steps: once from 1.0.4+2026.2.1 to 12.0.6+2026.5.6, then from 12.0.6+2026.5.6 to 12.1.2+2026.8.0.

If you try to upgrade all the way from 1.0.4+2026.2.1 to 12.1.0+2026.8.0 or later, Authentik will break and the fix is a bit complicated.

If you're arriving here because you did `abra app new authentik` / `abra app deploy <YOUR_AUTHENTIK_DOMAIN>` and it didn't work, here are some exact commands which should help you get going. **⚠️ Data will be deleted!** Only run these commands if you are deploying a new Authentik Replace `<YOUR_AUTHENTIK_DOMAIN>` with your domain where you put Authentik, without `https://` — for example if you put Authentik on `authentik.example.com`, then step 1 would be `abra app undeploy authentik.example.com` ```sh abra app undeploy <YOUR_AUTHENTIK_DOMAIN> abra app volume rm <YOUR_AUTHENTIK_DOMAIN> # (press enter/return) abra app deploy <YOUR_AUTHENTIK_DOMAIN> 1.0.4+2026.2.1 ``` One Authentik has deployed, you can upgrade to the latest version: ```sh abra app upgrade <YOUR_AUTHENTIK_DOMAIN> ``` Because of version compatibility, you have to upgrade in 2 steps: once from `1.0.4+2026.2.1` to `12.0.6+2026.5.6`, then from `12.0.6+2026.5.6` to `12.1.2+2026.8.0`. **If you try to upgrade all the way from `1.0.4+2026.2.1` to `12.1.0+2026.8.0` or later, Authentik will break** and the fix is a bit complicated.
