Rotterdam camera map

Warning

The city changed the format in which they publish information about where cameras are placed making this project unneccesary.

This used to be an attempt at parsing Rotterdam's gemeenteblad to make a map of which streets in the city have live view police cameras installed. They used to publish a list of street names where cameras are placed. Since 2025 they switched to including maps of the neighbourhoods with camera surveillance which eliminates the need for this for Rotterdam (also they don't put a list of streets in the document anymore). This project can be still useful for archival purposes and other cities, as every municipality publishes this data differently so maybe your city can benefit from this project.

Anyway, up to date info can be found at: https://zoek.officielebekendmakingen.nl/resultaten?q=(c.product-area%253d%253d%2522officielepublicaties%2522)and(cql.textAndIndexes%253d%2522aanwijzingsbesluit%2522+and+cql.textAndIndexes%253d%2522cameratoezicht%2522)%20AND%20dt.creator==%22Rotterdam%22&zv=aanwijzingsbesluit+cameratoezicht&pg=10&col=&svel=Publicatiedatum&svol=Aflopend&sf=po%7cRotterdam

This one applies until 30-06-2028: https://zoek.officielebekendmakingen.nl/gmb-2025-282124.html It's good to check lokaleregegeving.overheid.nl for those documents you browse as well, as this one for example was only approved for a month: https://zoek.officielebekendmakingen.nl/gmb-2025-282124.html but then resubmitted as two separate ones: https://zoek.officielebekendmakingen.nl/gmb-2025-304992.html and https://zoek.officielebekendmakingen.nl/gmb-2025-437593.html which were recalled after 2 and 4 months.
